As business leaders, the Kimpton team believes they have a responsibility to positively impact the communities in which they live. Kimpton's strong commitment to contribution begins and ends with its employees, all of whom play an active role in maintaining the company's mission, volunteering their time and energy to a variety of charities and causes. Employees are encouraged to become involved as leaders in the community and industry. It is important to Kimpton that its employees have a shared responsibility for the world we live in; this results in higher morale, productivity and
retention rates.
Externally, Kimpton's efforts start at the community level. All of its hotels are affiliated with local non-profit organizations, including those that benefit the arts, education and neighborhood beautification.
At different times every year, Kimpton's employees have opportunities to be actively engaged in the community, by participating in fundraising and support activities for non-profit organizations that are important to them. Each year, Kimpton University offers customized training classes one month
prior to each of the company's three national non-profit partnership campaigns. The training offers the staff the opportunity to learn more about the individual non-profit organizations Kimpton supports and how they can personally get more involved in the company's social responsibility efforts.
The primary goal of Kimpton's fundraising and volunteer efforts is to create genuine care and ongoing involvement for those in the community.
