Jerre Riffle, Palace Hotel

A lifetime of dedication to the Hospitality Industry, mentoring two generations of service leaders and setting the standards by which excellent service is judged are just a few of the hallmarks of two-time Hotel Hero Finalist, Jerre Riffle.  Jerre’s career has spanned the length and breadth of San Francisco’s convention, meeting and social calendars at the Westin St. Francis, The Stanford Court Hotel, and since 1991, at The Palace Hotel as Director of Conference Services.  Her reputation, however, well exceeds the boundaries of The City, as a renowned national hospitality leader.  There isn’t a client from corporate mogul, U.S. President, and even Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip that hasn’t received Jerre’s 5-star treatment.  Remarkably, it was a joint visit, over 20 years ago, by both a sitting President and Queen Elizabeth that truly established Jerre’s savvy and prestige…and remarkable cool.  The protocol, security and demands of one of these dignitaries alone would make a seasoned veteran weak in the knees, but imagine a simultaneous visit and the myriad details and dilemmas involved!!  After a seamless visit with no hits, misses or fouls, Jerre was dubbed “The Queen of Customer Service,” a well deserved title.  Her former colleagues fondly recall and value the time, training and mentoring she has given them to help launch their own careers.  When The Palace hosted 3,000 Starwood managers, Jerre was able to call on six former colleagues who came back to The Palace for one day to work on the event.  It is Jerre Riffle’s lifetime of devotion and love of the hospitality industry and that brings out the best in everyone she touches.
