The Nikko San Francisco

The Hotel Nikko San Francisco has been invested in the community since opening its doors 21 years ago.  As the only Nikko Hotel within the United States, the employees have embodied projects that impact several organizations; Salvation Army, GLIDE, Florence Crittendon and Parks and Recreation to name only a few continue to make a positive and significant difference to the community and to all the Hotel Nikko SF employees who volunteer over 1000's hours annually.

Hotel Nikko San Francisco's team believes that compassionate support to the local community is pivotal to the neighborhood's vitality and the hotel embraces this spirit by supporting and volunteering to help underprivileged youths and adults, seniors, veterans, domestic violence victims, programs for the chemically dependent, AIDS patients, the mentally disabled, several homeless shelters
, transitional housing centers, rehabilitative centers and programs.  This work has become part of a continued effort to give back to a community that we work in each day and has also become a cohesive part of the hotels culture and mission statement.

Hotel Nikko team continues dishing up in Mo's Soup Kitchen monthly, providing hotel tours to kids & students interested in the hospitality profession.  And you've probably seen the staff pulling weeds and planting flowers to help keep Union Square beautiful a minimum of 6 times a year.  Also, annual support of the AIDS Foundation through various fundraisers, helping Veterans return to work through Swords & Plowshares and sponsoring 250 students to shop with a Sheriff at Mervyns.  Nikko Hoteliers believe this type of support can only improve the quality of life in the surrounding neighborhoods.

The Nikko Hoteliers, inspired by their experiences, sought out other areas where they could be utilized and help those in need.  Several families have been adopted and holiday wishes granted; one of our managers made a special trip to Disneyland just to get Mickey Mouse ears to fulfill one little girls wish!  In addition, women & men have been coached on how to reach their maximum potential while getting ready to get back into the workforce through Dress for Success.

With the growing concern of our environment Hotel Nikko continues with its green initiatives by donating linens and towels, furniture, and bath amenities; soap, shampoo, lotions, hygiene kits, recycling food turning it into compost and avoid the purchase of anything Styrofoam, to name only a few.  Hotel Nikko is the only San Francisco Hotel to receive the Energy Star label award for 8 years consecutively.

Through their continuing efforts in donating money, clothing, food, sundries, and time, The Hotel Nikko San Francisco practices what it means to be a good community partner, neighbor and provider.  This hotel is an example of what integrity from an organization is all about, and is a role model in the community.
