Anna Marie Presutti, Hotel Nikko San Francisco

She began her career in hospitality, as a little mouse with “The Happiest Place on Earth” in Orlando, nearly 25 years ago.  We might say, however, that this was “The Mouse That Roared.”  Since that time, Anna Marie Presutti’s career followed a trajectory of rapidly escalating responsibilities and accolades.  She was a Senior Sales Manager and Director of Convention Services with Hilton Hotels; Director of Group Sales and Director of Sales and Marketing with ITT Sheraton; Regional Director of Sales and Marketing and Conference Director with Sunstone Hotel Properties; and, Area Director of Sales and Marketing with Kimpton Hotels.  She has been recognized as one of “The Most Influential Women in the Bay Area,” by the San Francisco Business Times and is a Board Member of both the Hotel Council of San Francisco and the Convention and Visitors Bureau.  Her many industry awards attest to the fact that Anna Marie walks the walk of customer service.  Additionally, she serves the hotel and meetings industry well as a Past President and board member of the Northern California Chapter of Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA).  She attends the PCMA Annual Convention every year – one of the few hotel general managers to do so.  Anne Marie says:  “The only way I can keep in fine touch with what our clients’ needs are is to attend industry meetings.”  Likewise, she can be seen at the ASAE Annual Convention and Trade Show, and traveling with the Mayor to Chicago, Washington, DC, and New York as a passionate advocate for San Francisco and our industry’s continued success.

This industry trail-blazer was named Vice President/General Manager of the Hotel Nikko San Francisco in 2006, the first and only woman ever to serve as an executive or general manager for the Nikko organization.  It is a source of great pride to her staff and management team to see the Annual Nikko Hotels International GM’s meeting group photo, with Anna Marie standing out in a red dress in a sea of black-suited men.  But that is just one of the many reasons why Anna Marie’s staff is so proud of her.  She is the driving force behind the entire Hotel Nikko San Francisco’s management team’s community service involvement.  The many organizations and activities with which the hotel is involved include:  The Salvation Army; serving meals monthly at Glide Memorial Church; annual participation in “Adopt a Family Program; mentoring and training programs with the Florence Crittenton Services; and helping beautify our City, volunteering with the San Francisco Park and Recreation Department.  Hotel Nikko also serves the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation, Special Olympics, as well as both the annual AIDS Walk San Francisco and Walk to Cure Breast Cancer.

Anna Marie has been and continues to be a mentor to many industry professionals and rising stars.  Always ahead of the curve, this two-time Hotel Hero Award Finalist performs from a position of strength and foresight as a hospitality and community leader.
